CSU Long Beach Physical Therapy Program – Basic Life Support

Welcome to your Basic Life Support certification class for CSU Long Beach Therapy Program! You need to have your BLS Card from the American Heart Association in order to be cleared for training. Classes will be taught at the specified location, and you will have your card either printed there or submitted to your program for clearance. If there are any additional changes or concerns you have, please let us know! We at the CPR HERO Training Center are excited to host this class for you and working directly with you.

The class is highly informational and thus requires you to be prepared! Please review our study guide ahead of time, and pay attention to the numbers and sequence of events. Participants will not receive their card if they do not pass our 25 question test!

 

The BLS course covers:

  • Adult and pediatric CPR
  • Two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
  • Foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
  • Bag Valve Mask Usage
  • Automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
  • Advanced Airway Usage & Asynchronous CPR
  • Special resuscitation situations
  • Other cardiopulmonary emergencies
